About Currency News Source

Markets Made Simple is not a tagline. It is the test.

Every sentence on this site has to pass it. If a reader cannot follow what a paragraph means, the paragraph is wrong, no matter how correct it is.

Currency News Source publishes a brief before the session opens. Three minutes, plain English, built out of numbers that were actually measured. It covers forex, crypto, oil and gold, and it is written for people who trade their own money and want to understand what they are doing, rather than be impressed by somebody who does.

Who writes it

Kanin D. Alldredge
Juris Doctor, Loyola Law School
Master of Science, Quantitative Economics
Bachelor of Arts, Economics and Political Science
Legal & Quantitative Analyst / Author / Educator, The Currency Classroom

On paper, that is a man who should be writing for other people with degrees.

He does not. He also works in real estate development and construction management, and his week runs from trade rooms during the London session to construction sites in the Nevada desert. Some weeks, the same day.

That is not a charming detail. It is the reason this site reads the way it does.

When you spend the morning inside central bank language and the afternoon around people whose fuel costs and loan rates are set by it, you stop tolerating writing that explains nothing. The jargon stops looking like professional shorthand and starts looking like what it actually is: a wall. On one side, the people who already know. On the other, everybody whose money is on the line.

So the wall comes down here. Every term is explained the first time it appears. Every number is measured, or it does not get printed. Nobody gets told what to buy.

Kanin writes Kanin's Corner in every issue, in his own voice. He wrote the six Forex Foundations lessons on this site, about twenty thousand words, free to read, assuming nothing. He wrote the fixed explainers in the Investing section. And he set the rules that everything else here is written under. He is married and the father of six.

The rules he set

No invented figures.Every price, level and percentage on this site was measured from real data. If we do not have the number, we say so and describe the direction in words instead.
No price targets, no buy or sell calls. We will show you what is happening and what a move would suggest. We will not tell you what to do with your money, because we do not know your situation, and anybody who pretends otherwise is selling something.
No jargon left standing.Carry trade. Basis point. Real yield. Risk-off. Each one gets translated where it is used, not in a glossary you have to go and find.
No uncertain outcome turned into a promise.Markets do not do inevitable. Anybody who tells you what will happen next is guessing in a confident voice.

Who this is for

People who trade forex, crypto, oil or gold with their own money. Mostly with something already built, and done being talked down to.

You do not need a finance background to read this site. You need three minutes and a reason to care, and the reason is usually that it is your money.
